Ok, this is a dessert that I grew up eating. My grandma and aunts used to make this during the holidays. It was my absolute favorite : ) When I grew up, had a family and hosted my very first Thanksgiving dinner I made this dish along with a few more desserts. IT was a hit with everyone especially my husband.
I was to make it every year after that and if I didn't my family would protest. I am not even kidding. I decided to make a different dessert a couple of years ago and EVERYONE was bummed and searching for the CHERRY STUFF!
The dessert is SUPER SWEET yet SALTY and TANGY too.
Trust me, each layer balances the other one out perfectly.
Just be sure to follow the recipe as I have made it.....(The reason you want the crust to cool and the filling to cool overnight is so it stays as 3 parts and not one big mushy mess.)
